Rachel Cambrin is a Canadian Folk Singer living and performing in Vancouver and the lower mainland of BC. Working briefly as a songwriter for early children’s computer games, she made her way back to recording and performing. Folk music came to her during a two week blues gig at a country bar in Vancouver and afterwards she made her crossover from Blues Music to Country and Folk.

It was a good fit, and she learned the songs of Cash, Dylan, Lucida Williams, and John Denver and later added Counting Crows, REM, and Green Day to the set list. Playing open mics was a start but she landed a gig as the house musician at a small club near Kits Beach and it was during that period she was able to hone her craft and sound. A friend told her about busking at Granville Island and she started performing there in 2017 and began releasing her music online.

Rachel is now exploring sounds and instrumentation that are revealing a style shift towards Alternative Country and Beat-Folk. This sound maintains the basic elements of Roots Music but add textures from other musical styles such as Afro Cuban and Hip Hop . Ladders is the first offering of this hybrid with the follow-up, Sisters Of The Dark, scheduled for June 18th - 2020.

More to come and many thanks for visiting this site.
